GLBBS Hosts Continuing Education Courses for Marine Professionals

Great Lakes Boat Building School has partnered with the American Boat & Yacht Council (ABYC) to offer continuing education and certification courses to Marine Professionals.

This week, instructor Mike Downey was joined by six individuals from all over the state of Michigan to take part in our first ever continuing education offering.  The Marine Systems course took place over three days from January 21-23.

This course was designed for the marine professional with experience working with marine systems design, installation or repair. The program provided students with a comprehensive and focused look at the key ABYC Standards.

Topics covered included:

  • Potable water systems
  • Marine sanitation systems
  • Tankage
  • Hull piping
  • Electrical installations
  • Compressed gas for cooking and heating
