Restoration Raffle Rules


Great Lakes Boat Building School (GLBBS) is proud to announce our “Restoration Raffle of a 1947 Chris Craft Deluxe Runabout” starting May 29th 2019 at 11:00AM at the GLBBS campus (485 S. Meridian St.; Cedarville, MI 49719). The drawing will be held during the 10th Annual Beer Fest & Boat Yard Bash on August 30th, 2019. Need not be present to win. Must be 18 years or older to buy a ticket. Proceeds to benefit Great Lakes Boat Building School.

The “Restoration Raffle of a 1947 Chris Craft Deluxe Runabout” Raffle is being conducted by GLBBS, a non-profit 501(c)3 organization under the laws of the State of Michigan.

Ticket purchaser must be 18 years of age or older to participate and must have a valid Social Security number.

There is no limit to the number of tickets one (1) person may purchase.

Raffle tickets are $500.00 each. Raffle tickets may be purchased by cash, checks or credit/debit card (made payable to GLBBS). Should the purchaser’s check not be honored by the bank, the ticket will become void and withdrawn from the drawing.

By IRS declaration, ticket purchases for valuable prizes are not eligible for charitable tax deductions.

Odds of winning are 1:100 per ticket.

Tickets may be purchased by the following methods:

  • In Person at GLBBS (485 S. Meridian St.; Cedarville, MI 49719); M-F 8-4p
  • On the internet by visiting or
  • By phone at 906-484-1081; M-F 8-4p

Ticket purchasers will be assigned a number (1-100) for each purchased ticket. If tickets are purchased in person or by phone the ticket purchaser will receive their number immediately. If tickets are purchased via the internet the purchaser will be notified of their number via email.

All ticket orders must be received with full payment no later than 4PM on August 30th or before a total of 100 tickets have been sold, whichever comes first, to be entered into the drawing. GLBBS will not extend ticket sales beyond the current drawing date of 7PM on August 30th, 2019.

Prize: One prize will be given away. First Prize: 1947 Chris-Craft Deluxe Runabout & Trailer.

Drawing will be held at the 10th Annual Beer Fest & Boat Yard Bash on GLBBS’s campus August 30th, 2019 at approximately 7PM. The winner will be determined by random drawing.

Winners need not be present to win. Winners will be notified by via phone and certified return receipt mail within 7 days of the drawing and will be posted on the Great Lakes Boat Building School website (

If GLBBS has not sold by 4:00 pm EST on August 30, 2019, at least 70 valid raffle tickets and received full payment, therefore, the raffle will convert to a 50/50 raffle utilizing the proceeds of all tickets sold to that point. A random drawing at approximately 7PM on August 30th, 2019 (at the 10th Annual Beer Fest & Boat Yard Bash) will take place where half of the dollars raised will be awarded.

Example: 60 tickets sold @ $500 each = $30,000. 50/50 raffle winner will receive $15,000
and GLBBS would retain $15,000.

The prize winner is solely responsible for all local, state and federal taxes, title, transfer fees, license duties, insurance and all expenses incurred in claiming the 1947 Chris-Craft & Trailer. The Internal Revenue Service requires the winner to fill out a W-9 before receiving a prize-winning over $600, and the winner will receive a 1099-misc revenue form from GLBBS for filing with 2019 income tax returns. The First Prize winner understands, acknowledges, and agrees that the First Prize winner is receiving a prize and will hereby release and discharge GLBBS, and any additional sponsors, their employees, agents, officers, directors and legal representatives and assigns from any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses or expenses arising from or caused by the award of such prize, including, but not limited to the payment of any and all taxes that are due.

Prize must be claimed within 30 days of drawing. Any unclaimed prize after that date will constitute forfeiture and be transferred to GLBBS as a donation.

GLBBS, its Board of Directors, and its agents assume no liability for lost, late, misdirected, mutilated, incomplete, illegible, or entries without payment which will be deemed invalid and disqualified.

The decisions and rules of GLBBS are final on all matters concerning the raffle.
