Support GLBBS just by shopping

As of October of 2018, Amazon has given $105,515,619.04 to linked charities.

It’s a pretty safe bet that you’ve heard of Amazon before. Chances are you have something from Amazon about to delivered right to your door right now.

What you may not know is that you can help Great Lakes Boat Building School with every purchase you make through Amazon’s “Smile” program.

AmazonSmile is very simple to use—all you need is an Amazon account.

On your first visit to the site, you will be asked to log in to your Amazon account with your existing username and password (you do not need a separate account for AmazonSmile). You will then be prompted to choose a charity to support – of course, we hope you’ll choose Great Lakes Boat Building School.

During future visits to the site, AmazonSmile will remember that you’ve selected Great Lakes Boat Building School as your charity of choice and apply 0.5% of all eligible purchases towards your total contribution—it is that easy!

You can make a difference for GLBBS, just by shopping on Amazon.

A couple of things to remember:

  • Only eligible purchases are applied – you can make sure that your purchases are eligible by looking for the “Eligible for  donation” designation that appears just below the price of each item.
  • Only purchases made through Smile.Amazon.com count toward the program – purchases made through Amazon.com or using the Amazon mobile app DO NOT.
  • If you’d like to use AmazonSmile from your mobile phone, please follow the steps listed below.

How to set up AmazonSmile from YOUR desktop or mobile DEVICE

1.) Visit smile.amazon.com. We recommend bookmarking this page so you’ll land on the Smile page every time you shop.

2.) If this is your first visit you will be prompted to enter your Amazon username and password.

3.) Locate the “pick your own charitable organization” search bar and type in “Great Lakes Boat Building School”.

4.) Click “Search”.

5.) You should see “Great Lakes Boat Building School” listed in Cedarville, MI – click the yellow “Select” button.  Once you’ve made this selection, you will receive an email confirmation from AmazonSmile.
