Challenge Mountain 20

Completed Project

Commissioned Project

The Challenge Mountain 20 is a one-of-a-kind adaptive sailboat that can be sailed with joystick control as well as with a sip/puff system for steering and sail trim.

PROJECT SCOPE

The Challenge Mountain 20 was a collaborative effort by Challenge Mountain, the Boyne City Yacht Club, the Great Lakes Boatbuilding School, Tiara Yachts, and Irish Boat Shop to design and build a boat that could be easily sailed by sailors with special needs. The boat was designed by Ken Workinger of Tiara Yachts, and GLBBS built the hull. Irish Boatshop painted and rigged it, and installed the adaptive equipment needed by the respective sailors.
