PROJECT SCOPE

This year we have expanded our curriculum to include an overview of wooded boat repair and restoration.  We will be using an old Chris Craft runabout as the focus of our learning.  This will allow our students to observe what happens to a wooden hull over the years and explore options for repair.

Runabout restoration or repair is a thriving industry in the Les Cheneaux Island area, the Great Lakes, and around the country.   Our focus will be on repair and returning to service but we will discuss full restoration to a show quality finish.  We anticipate that this hull will serve us for a couple of years, donating its life toward training a new generation of craftsmen.
